Mr. Jimmy Lee Turnham — 1944-2019

Mr. Jimmy Lee Turnham, 75 of Valley, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at his residence. He was born on Feb. 8, 1944, in West Point, to the late Oscar Turnham and Cathryn Carpenter Turnham.

Mr. Turnham is survived by his wife, Penny Turnham; his daughter, Allison (Curtis) Jones; his grandchildren, Avery (Audrey) Jones and Marleigh (Seth) Horstman.

Mr. Turnham was the former manager of Bridges Truck Stop. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving with the U. S. Army. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He loved working outside. He had been in declining health for the past year.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019 at 2 p.m. (EST) at the graveside in Shawmut Cemetery. The Rev. Doug Blackmon officiated the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church in his memory.
