TCSO arrests man after finding 21 grams of meth, guns

On Friday, investigators and deputies with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 170 Indian Bend Drive after receiving information that a stolen ATV from Heard County was on the property, according to a news release from TCSO.

During the execution of the warrant, a stolen Yamaha Rhino was reportedly recovered at the location, along with approximately 19 guns, ammunition and 21 grams of meth. The ATV was reportedly stolen from Heard County a few days prior, according to Sgt. Stewart Smith with TCSO.

TCSO arrested Matthew Wilson Strickland, 40, at the location, and he is charged with felony theft by taking and felony probation violation. According to the press release, additional charges are likely as the investigation continues.
