Mrs. Mary Lois Roberts, a resident of Valley, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. 

Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at 11 a.m. (EST) from Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church in Valley, with Pastor Karanja Story, Officiating and the Rev. Dr. George McCulloh as the Eulogist. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley is directing. 

Public Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, Jan.9, 2020, beginning at 6 p.m. and culminating with a family hour from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

Mrs. Roberts confessed Christ as her Savior at the age of 15 and joined Rehoboth Baptist Church. She served as chairperson of the Sunday School program committee, choir member, Red Circle Director, Secretary of the Women’s Missionary Society and church clerk as well as in other Ministries. She enjoyed a career as an educator of secondary education in the Chambers County Public School System for 30 years. 

She was married to the late Mr. Dewey Roberts, Jr. Her survivors include her two sons, Shirra Roberts of Valley, and Shirrell Roberts of Montgomery; one granddaughter, Brandice S. Fears of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two great-granddaughters, Kilei Lawer and Rilei Lawer both of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two sisters, Annie Lois Knight, Atlanta, and Jessie Ruth Brouden, Brooklyn, New York; and, a host of other relatives, friends, co-workers and students.
