Mrs. Vickie Lynn Nelson, age 61, of Valley, passed on Dec. 31, 2019, at her home.

She was born in Columbus, Georgia on Oct. 11, 1958, to the late Richard Shue and Edna Tew.

As she entered into heaven she was reunited with the love of her life, husband, Wyatt Nelson. Her siblings are Richard Shue, Bobby Shue, and the late Sandra Campbell. Children are David Lynn (Vickie) Nelson, Tina (Mike) Spradlin, Kathy (Don) Mullendor, Elvis (Tabitha) Nelson, Tommy (Brandi) Nelson, and Tiffany (Chris) Mayo. She had 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren that she loved with all of heart.

Vickie worked as the Lanier Nursing Home Activities Director for many years prior to her retirement. She took pride in planning for the residents and was loved by many.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020, from 6-8 p.m. EST. Her service will be held at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at 11 a.m. EST with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Lanett. Mark Messer will be officiating, and Cassie Messer will be delivering the music.
