LANETT — Economists consider housing stats a key indicator of a healthy economy in a given area.

On this score, there’s some good news for Chambers County in the way of some new home construction.

Five new homes in the $260,000 price range have been built at Riverside Estates, just outside Lanett, and five more in the same price range at Quail Run, located off Fredonia Road. The builder, RHB Contractors, LLC of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has built five subdivisions in the metro Nashville area in recent years.

One of the subdivisions has close to 100 homes. Another is in the range of 50 hones and one of them around 25. According to Todd Kinnie of RHB, the company built a total of 167 new homes in 2019.

On Wednesday, local realtors from Century 21 Wood Real Estate hosted an open house at two new homes ready for occupancy at Riverside Estates. Three more nearby homes are very close to being finished.

Present for the showing were realtors Debbie Wood, Julie Wood, and Lori Terry and lenders Audra Prather and Tammy Merritt of Ameris Bank. Each home being built has views of the Point University Golf Club. Each new home is on a half-acre lot and each one has three bedrooms, a bonus room over a two-car garage where a fourth bedroom could be added, two to two-and-a-half bathrooms, showers with tile floors, granite countertops, interior floors made of LVP laminate vinyl plank and new concept lighting.

“We are really excited about this,” Lori Terry said. “It’s right off the golf course and very similar to what’s in Opelika at the Saugahatchee and Robert Trent Jones golf venues, There has been lots of interest expressed to us about this. We are pleased to say that two of the homes are completely finished and three more are very close.”

It’s a similar story at Quail Run where two new homes are complete and three more will be finished in the very near future.
