Former LaFayette center Barnes signs with Bulgarian basketball club

Trevond Barnes signed a one-year deal to play with BC Beroe in Bulgaria. He averaged 8.4 points and 5.9 rebounds as a senior at Hampton University.

No. 3 Chambers defeated rival Springwood 50-0 in week 6 of the regular season.

Lanett wide receiver Larontavious Hurston caught the game-winning touchdown pass with just 34 seconds left in the game, sending Lanett to the 1A State Championship game.

Lanett won its second football championship in three years when it defeated Mars Hill Bible 41-30.
