Mr. Kermit (Dan) Wells, Jr, 80, of Lanett died Friday Feb. 7, 2020, at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home.

Dan was born in Opelika Aug. 16, 1939, to the late Kermit Daniel Wells and the late Phoebe Ennis Wells, he was a graduate of Lanett High School, and graduated from the Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia where he was awarded the Scholastic Achievement Award, he was a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Georgia and Alabama having worked for several funeral homes in the Atlanta area mostly with the Tara Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Forest Park, Georgia and later with the Johnson Brown Service Funeral Home in Valley and retired from the Resthaven Funeral Home in Lanett, he was a member of the Three Pines Baptist Church in Lanett.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday Feb. 11, 2020, at 3 p.m. (ET) at the Three Pines Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Heath officiating.

Visitation will be held at the church from 2 p.m. (ET) until 3 p.m. prior to the service and after the service.

He is survived by his Wife Linda Crowder Wells of Lanett, sons Tim Wells of Sharpsburg, Georgia and Jody Lamar Johnson of Huntsville. sister Betty (Sammy) Walters of Lanett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a Sister Martha Crenshaw.
