Mrs. Rosa Lee Baty 85, of Valley died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Baty was born in Randolph County, Nov. 8, 1934, to the late Sam Wood and the late Mae Ragsdale Wood, she was a member of the Faith Evangelistic Church in Valley, where she taught Sunday School and helped wherever she was needed at the church and was a homemaker.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at 2 p.m. ET at the Faith Evangelistic Church with the Rev. Tony Hagan and Mrs. Joann Stribblin officiating burial followed in the Shawmut Cemetery.

Visitation was held at the church from noon until 2 p.m. ET prior to the service.

She is survived by her Son Joseph L. Baty, Sr., of LaFayette, two daughters, Vertices (Bryan) Irvin of Beulah, Alabama, Anna Mae (Jackie) Fuller of Cusseta, son-in-law John Cook of Valley, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph Harold (Ta-Ta) Baty, daughter Glenda Cook, daughter-in-law Peggy Baty, and her brothers.
