We could really use community help as we begin work on our 20 Under 40 special section, which recognizes young professionals in Chambers County who are under 40 years old.

We’re looking for people who do good work every day and lead our community forward. Sure, that person could be a politician, a council member, a company CEO, but it can also be a nurse, a teacher or city employee.

It’s easy to nominate someone too.

The easiest way is to go to The Valley Times-News Facebook page and click on the post pinned to the top. That post is a link to our nomination form, which is all electronic. Once you fill out the information, we receive it and can start whittling down the list of nominees.

We do have one suggestion though.

When you’re nominating someone, don’t just say they are “good” at what they do. Everyone nominated will get that distinction. Go into detail. Explain why you’re willing to go the extra mile, taking time out of your own busy schedule, to nominate someone for community recognition. Examples are descriptive and influential too.

This magazine will publish at the end of March, and it’ll be the second annual edition.

We’re excited about putting the focus on another group of talented, young professionals in our community, and we hope you’ll help us find the best of the best.
