Mavis Irene Hill, 79, of Valley passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020, at East Alabama Medical Center.

Mrs. Hill was born Aug. 11, 1940, in Randolph County to the late Richard Melvin Huddleston and Ethel Nelson Huddleston-Brooks. She retired from Fairfax West Point Pepperell Plant after many years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Neal Brooks; brothers, Thomas “Huddy” Huddleston and Zenus Huddleston; and granddaughter, Amy Hill Gregory.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas Joel Hill; son, Randy Hill; daughters, Venetia (James) Kittrell, Vickie (Dean) Kolb, and Mindy Burkett; grandchildren, Daina Collins, Richard Hill, Ryan Kittrell, Josh Kittrell, Hannah Hilderbrand, and Jerad Burkett; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; her beloved pet and companion, Dixie; and other relatives and friends.

The celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2020, in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Clinton Hadaway officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery at 4 p.m.
