VALLEY — On Saturday, March 14, Missiles for Christ Ministry will be having a huge car show at King’s Auto Corner featuring celebrity appearances by Sonny Shroyer, better known as Deputy Enos Strate from The Dukes of Hazzard TV show, and Bobby Brantley from truTV’s Lizard Lick Towing and Repossession. Bobby will be accompanied by his sidekick “Crazy Dave” Eckler.

“Jaime and I have worked hard to pull this together, and I’m hoping it will be a home run for our community,” said organizer Scott Willingham. “I’m sure there are lots of people out here who remember Enos from The Dukes of Hazzard and Bobby and Crazy Dave from Lizard Lick Towing. You can meet them on Saturday.”

Shroyer is a native of Valdosta, Georgia and a graduate of the University of Georgia. He landed the role of Enos in 1978 and had his own spinoff series before returning to The Dukes of Hazzard and remained with the show until it was canceled in 1985.

Altogether, The Dukes of Hazzard was broadcast on CBS for 147 episodes spanning seven seasons.

The reality TV show Lizard Lick Towing ran from February 2011 until August 2014. It featured Ron and Amy Shirley, Bobby Brantley and their team of repossession guys from the Raleigh suburb of Wendell, North Carolina, a town that had jurisdiction over the unincorporated area of Lizard Lick.

The show was known for staged fights and scripted brawls during carefully choreographed repossessions of vehicles.

“Many of us remember Bobby from Lizard Lick Towing,” Willingham said. “He was often called Bobby the Bulldog or Repo Man Bobby. Bobby is a down-home, Southern gentleman and a country boy at heart who loves the Lord, his Mama and his family.”

Before Lizard Lick Towing, Brantley was an actor and assistant director of “All Worked Up” in 2009 and later on in “The Lonesome Curse” in 2016.

“Make plans to come out this Saturday to King’s Auto Corner this Saturday,” Willingham said. “The car show will be going on from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. EDT. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet Bobby Brantley and Crazy Dave. You can hear some of their stories and have your photo taken with these Lizard Lick stars. There will be music, food vendors and testimonials given during the show. You will see rare cars, collector cars and trucks, sports cars, jeeps, and movie cars. There’s just too many to name in a small space. The main thing is that the car show will support Missiles for Christ Ministries, which helps those who are bound by drug addiction.”

King Auto Corner is located on the south side of Exit 77 off I-85. For more information, contact Scott or Jamie Willingham at (706) 773-1808 or (706) 501-8311.
