Mrs. Edith King Webb, age 101, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at her residence. She was born on Oct. 25, 1918, in Efland, North Carolina.

Webb is survived by her daughters, Nell Oates of West Point, Jane (Gus) Darden of Lanett, Lucy (Fred) Johnson of Montgomery and Suzy Webb; grandchildren, Grady Oates, Skipper Darden, Wyatt (Erin) Oates, Franklin (Caroline) Johnson, Emily (Matthew) Pillsbury, Mary Margaret Johnson, Lucy Allison Johnson, Emma Andrews, Anna Andrews, and Grayson Andrews; great grandchildren, Bo Johnson, Ann Caroline Johnson, Eily Pillsbury, Vivian Pillsbury, Maisie Pillsbury, Boone Pillsbury, Lily Oates, and Natalie Oates: sister, Ruth King; care giver, SuSu Lokai.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Webb, Jr.; grandson, Clayborne S. Johnson; five siblings.

Webb was a member of West Point First United Methodist Church. She served in World War II as an Army surgical nurse in the Philippines, holding the rank of First Lieutenant. After marriage, she volunteered with the American Red Cross and Girl Scouts. She also served in many capacities at Langdale United Methodist Church, West Point First United Methodist Church, and Springwood School. She was a great wife, mother, and grandmother.

Due to coronavirus gathering restrictions a private service will be held.
