Mr. Jesse B. Barnes, a resident of Valley, died Thursday, May 7, 2020, in East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika.

Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2020, at noon from Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery, Valley, with Pastor Karanja Story officiating.

Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.  Public Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2020, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

Mr. Barnes served his country in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge in 1968.

His survivors include a loving daughter, Sharon (Thaddeus) Jenkins, Lanett; grandson, Caleb Jenkins, Lanett; great-granddaughter, Briar Jenkins, Lanett; a devoted sister, Brenda Faye Holmes, Valley; aunt, Mary (George) Williams, Lanet; nieces, Joyce Robinson, Alexander City, Loretta Dozier, Atlanta and Melanie (Sylvester) Stephens, Valley; nephews, Donald (Dorothy) and Jerry (Lisa) Dozier, Atlanta, Gregory Dozier, Dallas, Kenneth Dozier, Rodney Holmes and Marcus Holmes all of Valley; special cousin, Howard Barnes; brother-in-law, Joseph James; and, a host of other relatives and friends.
