Chambers Academy senior Maci Harmon has committed to continue her cheerleading career at Point University. She made it official when she signed her letter of intent on Tuesday.

Harmon was selected to the AISA All-Star Cheer squad this past year, getting a chance to cheer at the all-star game at the Cramton Bowl.

Since joining the cheer squad as a sophomore, Harmon received three varsity letters. She was the team captain in 2019.

“Maci set the bar high, working hard in extracurricular activities without sacrificing her academics,” Chambers Academy Headmaster David Owen said in a press release.

Harmon graduates with a 3.94 GPA. She participated in the school’s BETA Club, serving as the club’s secretary. She was a member of the SGA, serving as the parliamentarian and was a local Junior Ambassador for the Greater Valley Area Chambers of Commerce.

Harmon will pursue a degree in business at Point University in the fall.

Harmon is the third member of Chambers Academy’s class of 2020 to commit to continuing their athletic career in college, as Caydon Smoot committed to Southern Union for baseball and Gabe Brooks committed to play football at Faulkner.
