Her quiet and kind demeanor was known best by those who knew her best. She had much that she delighted in and foremost was her Lord. She could easily recall her baptism at Shawmut First Baptist where her father was a deacon. She had the privilege of sitting in the pew and listening to the likes of R.G. Lee at Fairfax First Baptist and Billy Graham at First Baptist of Dothan. Her conversation could easily move to the things of the Lord and gave insight that her Bible was well read and loved. Her hope for eternity was based on the death of her Saviour on Calvary for her.

She labored alongside her husband as they raised two children in Fairfax placing their priority on church and school. Her grandchildren she loved deeply as only a grandmother can. All were special to her and her times with them she treasured.

She was helped along as she drew nearer home by her fellow members at Fairfax First Baptist. Their love and concern for her was shown by repeated acts of kindness within and outside the four walls of the church building. As the last of the Lovelace family, those in that family that she leaves behind loved to contact her to try to rekindle and retain the memories they all have of the special bond of family.

She possessed that “meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price”. Of her, these words are fitting:

[Pro 31:27-30 KJV] She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of  idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 2 p.m. (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery. The Rev. Mark McGee will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. EST until the service hour at the funeral home.

The family respectfully asks that donations be made to Fairfax First Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
