Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Helen Hudson Parr

If loving others and being loved were the standards of measure for a life well lived, the life of Patricia “Pat” Helen Hudson Parr of West Point, Georgia, was lived to the fullest.

On Friday, July 25, 2020, Pat was called to her eternal home. Pat was born in Atlanta on Feb 6, 1937, the only child of Hazel (nee Fincher) and Eugene Hudson. In that hospital nursery she and her husband of 51 years, William “Billy” Thomas Parr, Jr., met. They remained smitten with each other throughout life.

Pat grew up in Decatur, Georgia, graduated from Decatur High School and went to Georgia Women’s State College and Georgia State University to pursue a degree in education. At the age of 34 she encountered Jesus Christ and her life was never the same.

She is preceded in death by her husband and her son, Patrick Michael Parr, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn ”Kathy” Parr Elliott Shearer (Tim) of Atlanta; her son, William “Bill” Thomas Parr III (Lee nee Hillegass), of West Point, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Jennifer (nee Jordan) of Pine Mountain, Georgia; grandchildren, Bretton Elliott Meirowitz (Paul) of Great Guana Cay, Bahamas, William “Billy” Thomas Parr IV (Caitlin nee Wolanek) of Lanett, Lee Anne Frances Parr, of Auburn, James Davis Elliott, Jr., of Atlanta, Katherine Stiles Parr of Auburn, Stephen Patrick Elliott, of Atlanta, Blakely Jennifer Parr, Savannah Jordan Parr, Patrick Michael Parr II, all of Pine Mountain, Georgia; step-grandchildren, Will Pearson of Jacksonville, Florida, Caroline Pearson Duggan (Davis) of Statesboro, Georgia; multiple great-grandchildren, loving caregivers, Jennifer Little and Willie Montgomery and a multitude of friends.

She was active throughout her life in many organizations. She was a member of Spring Road Christian Church, and during her illness attended was greatly loved by the members of Restoration Ministries Worship Center.

A celebration of life will be held at Point University’s William T. Parr, Jr., House located in West Point at a future date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Point University, New Mission System International, Save A Life, Spring Road Christian Church, Restoration Ministries Worship Center, and Chattahoochee Hospice.
