The Chattahoochee Humane Society is hosting its first annual St. Pawty’s Day 5K. The humane society encouraged residents to lace up their shoes and leash up their pups, preferably in green, to celebrate the event on March 15.
The CHS St. Pawty’s Day 5K is not just a race, it will be an opportunity for the community to celebrate in several ways. According to the humane society’s Facebook page, there will be a 5K Run and a Fun Run or dog walk to participate in.
A costume contest will give pet owners a chance to dress their pets up in their favorite Irish-themed outfit so that no one gets pinched. Contestants may get a prize.
From local vendors and food trucks to live music, the St. Pawty’s Day event at the humane society will have something for everyone in the community.
On March 15, the event will be held at the Historic Langdale Mill Farmer’s Market at 6000 20th Avenue in Valley.

For those organizations interested, there is still room for sponsors to help support the event, which will be listed on the sign up page.
