A large crowd gathered at Lanett’s newest insurance office, D. Lane Agency, for the ribbon cutting and open house ceremony sponsored by the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.

After the ceremony, they hosted a raffle with prizes from other local businesses such as Tasty Tater’s.

This is owner Dante Lane’s third location opening with the first two being in LaGrange and Opelika. Lane, a native of Five Points, has deep roots in the area so a third location in Lanett was a natural next step.

“I love the community,” Lane said, adding that he spends a lot of time in the area.

Looking ahead, Lane hopes to continue to grow D. Lane Agency more and more. The agency offers zero dollars down on insurance and low cost auto and home insurance.

“We serve the community,” Lane said.

GVACC Director Carrie Wood started off the ceremony with a few words of encouragement to Lane.

“No matter where you go, you’re going to see his truck or him somewhere within these three counties,” Wood said. “So he’s doing amazing things for all the wonderful people in our community, as well as the community connected to us.”

Lane also spoke during the ceremony.

“I’ll say it, and I’ll say it proudly,” he said, “I’m living my dream, and this is part of my dream that I dreamed a long time ago.”
