On 02/14/2025 at approximately 840 Pm officers of the Lanett Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of South 2nd Ave in reference to a black male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was transported by Lanett EMS to East Alabama Medical Center-Lanier in Valley Alabama where he succumbed to his injury. The victim was identified as Jerome A. Jackson a 34 year old man from Valley,Al.
