New event. Severe Thunderstorm Watch from 3/4/2025 9:27 PM to 3/5/2025 3:00 AM CST for Chambers County, AL.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 23 IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM CST
More than 66,643 are now without power across Alabama
We have already had a couple of downed trees from the wind gusts.
The line of storms will have heavy rain, it is in the Birmingham metro now and the current timing for our county is between 11pm and midnight through 1am Eastern.
Wind gusts have been in the 35-45 mph range so far within the line of storms… about the same as the gradient winds we have experienced today / are experiencing now.
The line will be entering the 431 corridor about 11:15 p.m.
All counties in the line of storms, right now, are under a severe thunderstorm warning and I expect that will continue throughout the duration of this system.
That line of warnings extends the entire state of Alabama north to south, with the exception of a few counties in the far south.
