VALLEY — In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day and to promote an enduring love of animals, the Chattahoochee Humane Society will be hosting its first annual St. Pawty’s Day on Saturday, March 15th.
It will be taking place at 9 a.m. EDT on the historic Langdale tennis courts, better known as the place where the annual Christmas Merry Go Round takes place.
There will be a 5k run, a one-mile fun walk and a dog walk for those who’d like to take part in it.
Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers and the top 15-under boy and girl finishers.
There will also be a costume contest. Dressing up for it is not mandatory but highly encouraged.
The mission of the Chattahoochee Humane Society is to shelter, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need across Chambers County, Alabama, providing them with the care and love they deserve.
The CHS serves as a trusted community resource, offering education, support and services that promote responsible pet ownership.
Through advocacy, outreach and compassionate action, the Chattahoochee Humane Society strives to ensure every domestic animal finds a safe and loving home.
Thus far this year the local animal shelter staff has successfully handled 63 dog adoptions and 29 cat adoptions.
