On 03/02/2025 at approximately 6 PM the Lanett Police Department responded to the 600 block of North 14th Ave in reference to a child being struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival officers found a 17 month old male child with serious injures. The child was transported from the scene by Lanett EMS to Lanier Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
