An investigation is currently underway, and we are cooperating fully with local authorities to determine how the weapon was brought onto campus.

CCSD has confirmed that there are no further threats related to this incident.

The school’s statement continued, “We are grateful for the quick response of our staff and law enforcement partners in maintaining a safe learning environment. Additional safety measures and support will be in place as needed in the coming days.  Local law enforcement is handling the matter and the CCSD will defer to their investigation.”

CCSD also encouraged parents to speak with their children about the importance of school safety and reporting anything suspicious to a trusted adult.
