Lanett PD responds to shooting on 18th Ave

On April 23, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers with the Lanett Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the area of 18th Avenue SW and 24th Street SW. Patrol units were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers located an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim received on-site medical attention and was transported by emergency medical services to a medical facility for further treatment. At this time, the victim is reported to be in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.
This incident is currently under active investigation. The Lanett Police Department is working diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lanett Police Department Investigations Division or Crime Stoppers.
