Springwood’s Shalexia Little has been named the AISA Girls Basketball Player of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers’ Association.

The award is well-deserved after an incredibly successful senior year. Little led her team to a state championship this year and has signed on to play collegiately at the University of Montevallo.

During her final year as a Wildcat, Little totaled 422 points for a 20-point-per-game average. She also had 141 rebounds and 35 assists. She was also named to the All-Tournament team following the state championship and was an AISA all-star.
