Suspect arrested on attempted murder charges for April 23 shooting

Following a thorough and diligent investigation by the Lanett Police Department’s Investigations Division, an arrest has been made in connection with the shooting incident that occurred on April 23, 2025.
On April 26, 2025, at approximately 6:58 p.m., officers arrested 21-year-old Tyrese Finley of Lanett, Alabama, in the 1700 block of 23rd Street SW. Mr. Finley was taken into custody without incident and is facing three counts of Attempted Murder.

On April 23, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers with the Lanett Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the area of 18th Avenue SW and 24th Street SW. Patrol units were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers located an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim received on-site medical attention and was transported by emergency medical services to a medical facility for further treatment. At this time, the victim is reported to be in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.
