West Point City Council discussed the applications for several board seats including the Hawkes Library Board, Board of Adjustments and Municipal Planning Board during the work session on Tuesday.

The two applications for the Hawkes Library board are Marshall Sapp and Erin Anderson. Sapp is interested in serving on the board again and Anderson is a new applicant. The board has room for both applicants so the council will have both as recommendations.

The two applications for the Board of Adjustment are Dianne Davidson and Don Cleveland. Both are currently board members and are seeking to be resubmitted.

The next application is for the Municipal Planning Board. Bill Gladden has reapplied to be considered continuing to serve another four years.

The mayor and city council will vote on these board applications during the next council business meeting on April 14.

The mayor and city council also considered a proposed amendment to the EZ Blockchain agreement, an electrical service agreement. EZ Blockchain has been a customer of the city since 2020.

Some additional costs have been incurred that the city is being charged with. The amendment would require the company to pay those expenses or any costs that are added to the city for providing these services as a customer.

The city is still in negotiations with them on this amendment. All of the parties involved have reviewed the contract. The city is currently waiting to hear back from the customer, EZ Blockchain.

The goal is to have the contract back with no or minimal changes at the April 14 meeting for the council’s approval.
