The 2025 Chambers Academy graduating class walked across the stage on Friday night. The seniors celebrated their high school graduation on the school’s football field in front of a packed crowd.

The small class size allowed for an intimate ceremony full of personal stories and shared memories.

This included a poem written and read by Alissa Andrews about her classmates. Staff were able to give out multiple awards and scholarships based on individual students’ character, academic, or athletic achievements.

According to headmaster Jon Owens, the class of 26 students has racked up around $3.2 million worth of scholarships. Following the period of awards, the speeches began.

“If you’ve been around our class long enough, you know we like to win,” said Haley Yarbrough, the salutatorian. “…whether it be on the field, the court or in the classroom, this class has shown the true embodiment of unity. We made history, not just through awards or scholarships, but for the way we showed up for each other. We’ve proved that leadership isn’t about one person at the front, but about all of us lifting each other high.”

Class Valedictorian Harrisyn Reames echoed her classmate’s sentiment.

“We all walk through the doors of this school at different times for different reasons. But isn’t it wonderful that the Lord brought us all to Chambers Academy?” Reames said. “All 26 of us have different passions, interests and hobbies, but one thing we will always have in common is our time shared together at CA, and that is pretty special.”

Owens spoke highly of the class’s leadership.

“There are students in this class that are signing athletic scholarships, accomplished cheerleaders, musicians,” Owens added that many of the students are already trained in a skill and will begin work after graduation.

As a mini senior prank, each of the graduating seniors handed Owens a golf ball as they shook hands to receive their diplomas.

This resulted in the headmaster having to fill his pockets with the golf balls until briefly stopping to chuck some to the side of the stage.

When the ceremony was winding down, Owens left the class with this: “There’ll be two questions that you’ll get asked. One, where you’re from, you’ve got answers for that. And then two, where did you go to school? And you’ll tell the Chambers Academy. When people ask you where that is, you tell them that’s home. There’s no place like home.”
