Challenges, Iron Bowl fun and dog treat mayhem will commence at the Chattahoochee Humane Society on May 14. The Jordan’s Way Fundraiser will be coming to the local humane society on Wednesday.

The Jordan’s Way founder and host, Kris Rotonda, will be visiting the CHS facilities for the second time to host a Facebook Live fundraiser. From 6 to 9 p.m. ET, Rotonda along with shelter staff and local officials will be engaging in many different fundraising challenges, including locking the staff in kennels.

The goal is to raise $20,000 toward a new transport vehicle, which Shelter Director Phalisha Hadaway said the shelter has needed for a couple years now.

While some shelter staff will be raising money to be unlocked from the dog kennels, others will be raising it to eat a dog treat. A medical tech even plans to get a tattoo if the shelter raises $7.5K.

Hadaway herself will be sleeping overnight in the shelter. Kenny Knox, from Kenny Knox Tire, and Denise Clark will be helping fundraise by offering to swap Auburn and Alabama gear if the shelter raises $10K.

City staff from the fire and EMS departments will be coming out to support the event. West Point Mayor Steve Tramell will even be getting locked into a kennel.

Already, the shelter has raised approximately $1,000 toward the event. The community can continue to donate and support through links on the CHS Facebook page before and during the event. Hadaway encouraged people to support in any way they can.

As ever, the shelter is in dire need of foster families and adoptions. On Tuesday, Hadaway told the VT-N that the kennels are completely full and the facility is well overcapacity.

In 2023, the shelter hosted Jordan’s Way for their first time as a fundraising event.
