Erin Bishop of Valley was arrested for aggravated child abuse on May 19, after her child was brought into a Birmingham area hospital with multiple injuries, including a broken femur bone. Due to the extent of the boy’s injuries, the Valley Police Department was called.
According to VPD Chief Mike Reynolds, when the child was brought in, they found past injuries that had begun to heal. Following an investigation, VPD arrested Bishop and charged her with aggravated child abuse. Reynolds explained they used the aggravated charge due to the child’s age and the extent of their injuries.
Bishop is currently in custody at the Chambers County Jail.
