Danny “Lynn” Foy, Sr., age 73, of Valley, Alabama—most recently residing in Plant City, Florida—passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Affectionately known as Lynn by friends and family alike, he touched countless lives with his warmth and kindness. Born on February 8, 1952, in Orange Park, Florida, Lynn was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for his family. He graduated from Clay High School in Green Cove Springs, Florida, where he began forming the values and friendships that shaped his life.

A devoted Christian, Lynn dedicated much of his life to sharing God’s Word. He formerly served as a Southern Baptist minister and earned a Bachelor of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he shared it through both his preaching and his daily example. He was a member of Blanton Baptist Church in Valley, Alabama, and after relocating to Florida, he attended Graceway Baptist Church in Plant City, where he continued to worship and grow in his faith.

Lynn lived a life guided by integrity, kindness, and compassion. He had a unique way of making others feel seen, heard, and cared for. Always wearing a smile on his face, he was ready to share one of his favorite jokes—or a new one he had just learned—with anyone willing to listen. His humor brought joy to those around him, and his laughter was often the light in the room. Whether sharing his wisdom, helping a neighbor, or enjoying the simple joys of life, Lynn left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was a devoted husband, father, and friend—roles he embraced with pride and purpose. Lynn found joy in life’s everyday moments and was deeply rooted in his values of faith, family, and service.

Lynn is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Theresa Foy; his children, Dan L. Foy, Jr., Naomi (Michael) Grissett, and Joanna (Robert) Conner; his siblings, Stanley (Linda) Foy, Marlene Merchant, and Bruce (Lynn) Foy; and his nieces and nephews, Randy (Kristie) Williams, Ricky Williams, Nathan (Pam) Foy, Stacy Foy, Adam Merchant, and Andy Foy. He is also remembered with love by many extended family members and dear friends —like so many others—were never strangers to his smile. Lynn adored his grand puppies and found so much joy in having them all lined up to receive treats. His love for animals was just one more way his gentle and giving spirit shined through.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anderson Foy; his mother, Lucile Wager Foy; and his sister, Willena Foy-Williams.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Graceway Church, 3106 S. Wiggins Road, Plant City, FL 33566.

As Lynn chose to be cremated, there will be no formal funeral service. Friends and family are invited to join together to share memories, honor his legacy, and celebrate the life of a truly special man.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Lynn’s memory to one of the following:
