The Mary Joy Moosman Foundation is hosting its second annual Lemonade Stand Fundraiser on July 26 to raise funds for scholarships and access opportunities. It is held as a tribute to Mary Joy’s kindness and generosity.
The foundation’s namesake was known to set up these lemonade stands out of a desire to provide a cool treat under the oppressive Southern heat, spreading kindness in the process.
This year, the fundraiser will start at 10 a.m. with six locations across Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, an increase of two locations compared to last year. Refreshments, including various lemonades and cookies, will be available, along with foundation-branded T-shirts at the West Point location. Donations are encouraged for all items.
This year’s fundraiser occurs at the following locations:
- 609 Ave. C, West Point, Georgia
- 9 Alabama Ave E., Lafayette, Alabama
- 106 N. 8th St., Opelika, Alabama
- 310 Broad St., LaGrange, Georgia
- 55 Main St., Ellaville, Georgia
- 425 E. 4th St, Jacksonville, Florida
Family members, members of Moosman’s church, and everyone whose life was touched by her contribute to the preservation of her memory and play a crucial role in the event’s success.
