Battle up front key in Lanett-Sulligent clash

Which team can control the offensive and defensive lines will be keys to the outcome of Friday’s AHSAA 2A semifinal football showdown between the No. 2-ranked Lanett Panthers (13-0) and the Sulligent Blue Devils (12-1) at Morgan-Washburn Stadium.
Sulligent has 16 players who weigh 225 pounds or more and average about 270 across the front line.
While Lanett is not as big up front as Sulligent, they do have a number of very physical players, including senior Baraskious “Boo Rock” Dowdell, one of the most dominating and intimidating players in all of AHSAA football in any class. Dowdell has enjoyed a sensational season.
Lanett’s offensive line of left tackle Perry Jones, left guard D’Terrion Glaze, center Tristian Meadows, right guard Johnny Daniels and right tackle Dowdell is a solid group and has progressively improved individually and as a unit as the season progressed.
The defensive front is as follows: Glaze at defensive end, LaVante McCullough at noseguard and Dowdell the bell cow at defensive end.
It should be a war up front.
