Mr. Donald Newman, 80, of Valley, Ala. passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Ala.

Mr. Newman was born on October 21, 1937 in Elmore County, Ala. to the late Calvin Byrd Newman and Viola Lucretia Cato Newman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie B. Newman.

Mr. Newman was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Valley.  He retired from the Uniroyal Company and later from the Chambers County School System, where he was a bus driver.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and softball.

He is survived by his children, Tracy (Susan) Newman, Tony D. Newman, Terry Newman, and Mike Parrish, all of Valley; grandchildren Ashley Newman, Lacy Newman, Tracy Newman Jr., and T.J. Newman and great-grandchildren Taylor White, Luke White and Olivia White.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 at 10 a.m. EST at Fairview Baptist Church with the Reverend Tim Bass officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the church immediately following the service.
