OOLTEWAH, Tenn. ­— Mrs. Beverly Wright Laney, 68, of Ooltewah, Tenn. passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn.

She was born on December 13, 1948 in Langdale, Ala. to the late Graham Wright and Ruby Anthony Wright. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Tony Wright, and Nick Wright.

Mrs. Laney was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church in Ringgold, Ga.

She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Auburn University.  After graduation, she went on to teach special education for 27 years, touching the lives of hundreds of students during her career.  She loved her pets and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Jim R. Laney, Ooltewah, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Yvonne Wright, Huguley, Ala.; mother-in-law, Chella Laney and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. EST at the Langdale United Methodist Church with interment following in Johnson Memorial Gardens.  The Reverend Paul Messer will officiate the services.  The family will be receiving friends at the church on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. EST until 11 a.m. EST.
