LANETT — Mrs. Margaret G. Raye, 69, of Lanett, Ala., passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at her residence.  She was born on March 17, 1948 in LaGrange, Ga.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Lanett. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Lanett.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Mrs. Raye is survived by her son, Jeff (Ann) Raye of Valley; her two grandchildren, Jackson Cummiskey and Ansley Grace Cummiskey, both of Brentwood, Tenn.; her two brothers, Jimmy (Peggy) Traylor of LaGrange, Ga. and Roger (Gloria) Traylor of Hiawassee, Ga.; her special nephew, Steve (Gayle) Williams; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Raye; her daughter, Jenifer Raye Cummiskey; her mother, Aldine Traylor; and her father, Gwenn Traylor.

Mrs. Raye was generous and caring.  Her family and her home were her passions.  Her favorite place to be was on the back porch with her family.  She loved the company of friends, to talk with them on the phone and to cook.  She was a dental assistant in the community for over 25 years.

Ever since losing Donnie and Jenifer, Mrs. Raye has longed to be with them. Now she is. She will be greatly missed.
