Grace worked for The Valley Times-News for many years in advertising before retiring. She enjoyed working with people and was very much a people person.

Grace grew up in Roanoke in a large family of 12 children. She dearly loved all of her extended family. She lived most of her life in Lanett.

Family was very important to her. She looked forward to, and so enjoyed, family reunions every July. She kept in touch with this big family with visits and phone calls throughout the year. She especially loved when they would gather together and sing old Gospel songs. She loved working outside in her yard, planting flowers and plants that were beautifully displayed everywhere for everyone to see. She enjoyed feeding the birds and watching them outside her kitchen window. She so loved doing things little and big for her family and friends, this gave such joy and happiness. She loved to play the piano and sing.

Grace will be deeply missed for her kindness, sense of humor, laughter, smile, loving nature, and beauty. If you knew her, you know how beautiful and fashionable she always was. To her family she leaves wonderful memories of family dinners and holiday dinners blessed by her amazing cooking and lots of good times, laughter and love.

These times together will forever be a blessing to her family. To her family, she will always be “our Amazing Grace.”
