Hello Huguley friends! I hope you are experiencing the on again and off again winter weather. It is really cold in the mornings and warmer during the day. Flu is still running rampant, so be careful. I went to see my doctor this past week and realized they were passing out masks to patients as a precaution to catching any bug that may be running around. Take care of yourself and your family. I am trying to stay away from a bunch of sick folks!

Willard and I ran into Horace and Sarah Bradley as we were going out for lunch on Sunday after church. They joined us for lunch as Burger King was just about full. Sarah was telling me about her recent birthday as her birthday was on Saturday before we saw them on Sunday. Horace came to the house and said ‘put your shoes on to go somewhere’. But he didn’t tell her where they were going. So they hopped in the car and they just drove a while. They ended up at the home of Eddie and Jeri Bradley in LaGrange. They had a delightful time as they surprised Sarah with her birthday cake. Attending with them for the celebration were Eddie and Jeri Bradley, Trey and Ava Bradley, Grace Ann Bradley and Zack, Chelsea and Rebecca Irving, and Evelyn and Ron Wagner who came in from Lafayette. Just goes to show you’re never too old to be surprised for your birthday.

I heard from the fine folks that work the Christian Service Center and they wanted to relate a few details from the end of the year. I know it’s a little late, but we finally have our totals for the Filling Santa’s Sleigh Program for Christmas 2017! Because of the support from our amazing community, they were able to serve 106 adults and 815 children during this Christmas season! They were able to supply lots of school supplies as well. Thank you all for your support and prayers as we serve our community!

Lots of movement going on around Happy Valley Baptist Church right now as we gear up for the 2018 Walk with Jesus. We skipped a year between presentations. We will be adding several new scenes this year and really look forward to reaching as many folks as we can. Schedules will come out very soon about when the presentations will be going on. Make your plans to try to attend and bring a loved one or two to see it. We are out there a few days each week digging out props, getting the lighting all figured out, putting up temporary walls, adding rivers, cities, all to enhance the presentation as we Walk with Jesus. I’ll let you hear more about it as March gets closer. It will be presented three separate weekends.

I sent out three or four texts last Wednesday evening asking for some news for the column this week. I guess it got lost in the mail. Oh well… I do my best. Maybe the parties I texted will see this and send it to me this next week.
