LaFAYETTE — Mr. Jimmy Rogers Thomas, 62, of LaFayette, Ala. passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018, 1 p.m. CST at the New Mt. Sellers Baptist Church in LaFayette with the Rev. Terry L. Magby, Sr, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Mae R. Thomas of LaFayette; his daughters, LaShawna (Kenneth) Black of Chattanooga, Tenn., Martina Mitchell of LaFayette, Amanda (Derrick) Turner of Valley, Ala. and Melody Brooker of Atlanta; his sons, Lamarkes Mitchell of Tuskegee, Ala., Christopher (Naketa) Mitchell of Sylacauga, Ala. and Dimetreus Mitchell of Saginaw, Mich.; an adopted daughter, Kimberly Carter of Montgomery, Ala.; twenty-five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Thomas, Jr. and Toney (Stephanie) Thomas, both of LaFayette; three sisters, Jean (Rev. Michael) Stevenson, Linda F. Thomas and Mechelle (Jimmy) Mitchell, all of LaFayette; his mother-in-law, Lelia Pearl Walker of Lanett, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
