MS. BECKY FREEMAN

LANETT — Ms. Becky Freeman, 75, of Lanett, Ala. peacefully passed away on Friday January 19, 2018 at the Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome, Ga.

Becky was born on August 12, 1942 in Lanett to the late Charles “Shorty” Freeman and Myra “Polly” Freeman. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Doyle Freeman.

Becky is survived by her two daughters, Lisa (Marc) Riley of Aragon, Ga., Cyndi (Charlie) Liles of Marietta, Ga.; five grandsons, Chris Stewart, Garrett Liles, Donald (Victoria) Riley, Marcus Riley, Christopher Riley; two great grandsons, Isaac Stewart and Brayden Riley; her sister, Merry (Mark) Allen; one niece, Ashley Allen; two nephews, Casey Freeman and Tyler Freeman; one great niece, Payson; and her sister in law, Darleen Freeman.

Becky graduated Valley High School in 1960 and moved to Atlanta to begin a career of more than 35 years with the Equitable Insurance Company, from which she retired in 2005. After retirement, she moved back home to Lanett and quickly became involved in several local community groups.

Becky was a dedicated, and active, member of the Huguley United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer. She could always be found cooking and serving at the church’s monthly Friday lunches. She was a humble lady who had a servant’s heart and loved to help out wherever she could.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. EST and on Wednesday from 1 until 2 p.m. EST.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Becky’s memory to the Huguley United Methodist Church, 3921 32nd Street Southwest, Huguley, Alabama 36863.
