HUGULEY — Christian Service Center Director Cheryl Myers said she has two of the best neighbors in the world.
“We have lived next door to Robert and Sarah Key for 40 years,” she said. “We are always waving and saying hello to each other, and we look out for each other. We even follow each other on Facebook.”
Cheryl and husband Hermon Myers live next door to the Keys on 28th Street in Valley’s Shawmut community.
“It’s a comfort to know that Robert and Sarah are there,” Myers said. “We’ve always calling each other to see if there’s anything either family needs. Being there for each other is what being a good neighbor is all about.”
Mr. Key is retired but still has a wealth of experience from a career of being a heating and air man.
“There have been situations when he’s helped us out, and we appreciate it so much,” Myers said.
The Christian Service Center just got through a very busy Christmas season, and Myers has hit the ground running for a very active year in 2018.
“We are open from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. (EST) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays,” she said. “We will meet people by appointment on Tuesdays.”
Myers said that she’d like for people who need clothing to come on Wednesdays.
“We started doing that this past fall for the Christmas season, and it worked out well,” she said. “If people are used to coming by on that day we would like to keep doing it.”
