MRS. ADELL HUFF MATTHEWS

VALLEY — After a long illness, Adell Huff Matthews of Valley and formerly of Attalla, Ala. passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the age of 71.
Her funeral service will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla on Tuesday Febryary 20, 2018 at 2 p.m. CST. Rev. Dwight Edwards will officiate the service. A private interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
From 1 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lanett; 701 South 6th Street; Lanett, Alabama 36863.
Adell was always a kind, thoughtful and loving person. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She will be greatly missed, but her love for everyone and sweet memories of her will always be cherished by those who knew her and loved her dearly. Those preceding her in death include her parents, Richard and Victoria Huff of Attalla; her sister and brother-in-law, Glenda Gail and Joe Wayne Swords of Albertville, Ala.; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ursa and Houston Matthews of Attalla; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Billie Gail and A.G. Smith of Attalla.
She leaves behind her loving husband of fifty-six years, Roy Matthews; her son and his wife, Richard and Allyson Matthews; three grandchildren, Carrie, Langley and Emily Jo Matthews all of West Point, Ga.; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jane and Wesley Johnson of Rainbow City, Ala.
She is also survived by eight brothers and sisters; Martha Huff Otwell and husband, Hugh of Gadsden. Ala.; Walter Huff and wife, Martha Jay of Boaz, Ala.; Bobby Huff and wife, Patsy of Attalla; Robert Huff and wife, Cathy of Oneonta; Frances Huff Cornelius and husband, Tulis of Ivalee, Ala.; Danny Huff and wife, Judy of Conway, S.C.; Dennis Huff and wife, Theresa of Attalla; Jean Huff Oden and husband, Lynn of Gallant, Ala.
She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, along with long time family friend, Betty Brooks, all of whom will forever cherish her memory.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her longtime friend and caretaker, Beverly Askew and a special thank you as well to caretakers Pam Wooley and Martha Hamm.
