MRS. HAZEL GARRETT FINLEY

OPELIKA, Ala. — Mrs. Hazel Garrett Finley went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2018. She was born on June 24, 1921, to the late Charles Tim Garrett and the late Mary Pearl Garrett. She was a resident of Albany, Georgia from 1941 until 2014, when she moved to Opelika, Ala. and resided at Manor House until her death.

She was a member of Albany Charity League and Kiwanis Women’s Auxillary. She was the church organist for First Baptist Church, Presbyterian Church and Sherwood Baptist Church for 35 years until her health declined.

Mrs. Finley was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Rothwell Finley, and son-in-law, Grady Rodney Harmon. She is survived by one daughter, Mary F. Harmon; four grandchildren,  Susan K. Harmon, (Jerrold), Woody Harmon (Debbie), Leigh Richardson (Jerry), and Douglas Harmon; and six great grandchildren, Blake Whitman, Thomas Harmon, Austin Harmon, Jessica Harmon, Laura Harmon and Levi Harmon.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Church in LaFayette, Ala. or to Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga. A graveside service is planned for Monday February 26, 2018 at 2 p.m. EST at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany with the Rev. Michael Catt officiating.

Visitation will be held at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home in Albany on Monday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., prior to the graveside.

Pallbearers will be  Woody Harmon, Blake Whitman, Thomas Harmon, Austin Harmon, Jerrold Yates and Jerry Richardson.

Jeff Jones Funeral Home, LaFayette, Ala. and Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home, Albany, Ga.  are handling the arrangements.
