CUSSETA, Ala. — Mrs. Lue Merle Patten, 63, of Cusseta, Ala. passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Ala.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, 1 p.m. CST at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in LaFayette, Ala. with the Rev. Gary Dixon, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Patten  leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, John Wayne Patten; a devoted son, Eric Johnson (Jakki) of Atlanta, Ga.; three granddaughters, ShaQuitaa.Johnson, India Johnson and Ericca Johnson, all of Atlanta;  five great-grandchildren: Amaria, Kordarius, Kendra, Brooklyn and Kwaku, all of Atlanta; stepchildren Marcus Williams, Anthony Williams, Chavosky Williams, Trey Williams, Darnell Patten, Lisa Turner, Alisha Patten and LaTasha Williams, all of LaFayette, Ala.; five brothers: Bobby Carr (Amelia), Jarvis Story (Sara) and Gary Blunt (Hilda), all of LaFayette; Ronald J. Carr of Atlanta and Morris Carr (Keela) of Beaurgard, Ala.; five sisters: Cresandra Bryan of Opelika, Ala,, Dorothy Parkmond (Ray) of West Point, Ga., Darris Harris, Veronica Thomas (Anthony) and Sharon Howell (Ron), all of LaFayette, two brothers-in-law, Walter Patten of Alexander City, Ala. and Roger Patten of Lanett, three sisters-in-law, Willie Pearl Patten of LaFayette,  Janice Patten and Lera Patten of Lanett, two uncles, Willie J. Story of Hampton, Va. and Clifford Story, Jr. (Lerae) of LaFayette, two aunts, Frances Preer and Cynthia Story of Manhattan, N.Y., a special cousin, Latanya Story of Auburn, Ala. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
