Valley Taco Bell being demolished

VALLEY — The Taco Bell restaurant located on Highway 29 in Valley is closed.
It will be demolished today, and the site will be cleared to make room for a much more appealing place to dine.
At Monday’s meeting of the Valley City Council, Planning and Development Director Travis Carter said that a new Taco Bell will be built on the site and should open in 90 days.
Workmen from Buxton Contracting were on the site on Tuesday, removing interior furnishings. All utilities were disconnected, and this morning the building was demolished by a large trackhoe.
Store owner Tacala LLC will be building back a store that’s not as wide as the building that’s come down but will be longer. Some trees to the back will be cut down to make for a longer drive through.
A number of these new Taco Bells have been going up in Middle Georgia.
“There’s much more stucco on the exterior to give it the feel of old Mexico,” a workman on the site said.
There’s a 90-day time frame for the rebuild.
The new store should be open around mid-May, around the time local high school graduations will be taking place.
