Hello Fairfax friends! Man, it seems forever since I have heard from you guys. I have a few things you might be interested in.
I got a notice from Fairfax First Baptist this past week. They are very busy this spring. Lots of events going on. Sunday is the Spaghetti Lunch right after service. Donations for Youth Summer Camp accepted. Chick-fil-A sales this month will be held May 23rd. The April one is the 13th. The May one is the 15th. Fish Fry is April 28th. All youth that would like to go to camp needs to be present for Sunday and for April 28th Fish Fry to help and show your appreciation for the support the church family is showing you. Rene Brown Traylor should have tickets ready to sell for the Fish Fry. Busy people are happy people! They must be very happy down that way!
FAIRVIEW FRIENDS met on Thursday, March 8 with the following members in attendance: Pat and Lee Hamilton, Nancy Palmer, Vanessa & Donald Hand, Charlotte Copeland, Winnona & Billy Farmer, Connie Milner, Tim Bass and Ellen Prickett, Cathy & Ricky Turner. Charlotte Copeland, President, asked Brother Tim to have the opening prayer. Brother Tim gave a devotion that was very inspiring. The group enjoyed the bounty of delicious sandwiches, desserts coffee and tea. Afterwards, the group all enjoyed 5 rounds of Bingo. Prizes included LOTS OF CHOCOLATE. Bingo winners were: Charlotte Copeland, Lee & Pat Hamilton, Winnona & Billy Farmer, Billy Farmer was the grand prize winner BINGO with two wins.
To lose a loved one is tragic but even greater is than not knowing where to turn for help. That’s where GriefShare comes in! A Place to Turn, A Group to Belong to when you hurt the most! GriefShare, a special help seminar and small group support for people experiencing grief and loss, will be held on Sunday evenings at The Bridge Church beginning March 18th from 4 to 6 PM CST for 13 weeks excluding Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. GriefShare features nationally recognized experts on grief recovery topics. Seminar sessions include “Is This Normal?” “The Challenges of Grief,” “Grief and Your Relationships,” “Why?” and “Guilt and Anger.” Meetings will be held at 1000 Lee Road 263 Cusseta AL 36852 in the Multi-Purpose Room. Remember to add to your calendar of events this month this Walk with Jesus! Come and experience some of the events of Jesus’s life to get an understanding of who He was and why He is so important to us! This is a free event that will take place at Happy Valley Baptist Church on March 16, 17, 23, 24, and 30. That means it starts this weekend! Make your reservations prior to the event for yourself and up to 16 people per group by calling 706-590-1453. Donations will be accepted. Call before the time slots fill up!!! A guided tour will begin every 30 minutes beginning at 6:30 p.m. EDT, with the last group beginning at 9 p.m. Bring folks with you that need to see and hear the Gospel message. At least 5 other churches are helping put this together so it’s not to lift up a church (Happy Valley) or another person (the pastor), we are lifting up Jesus….and we desire your help. Come and walk with us as we “Walk With Jesus”.
I know I brought you notices from three or four churches, but, by no means is that all that is going on in the Fairfax and surrounding area! I am down that way about twice a week and I see stuff happening: I just don’t have authorization to put it in the paper without your permission. Won’t you give me a
shout out so I can let the rest of the Valley know what is going on in Fairfax?
I will accept news any way you’d like to send it. Email me at strictlynews@charter.net or you can text me at 706-77-6550 or send it to me on Messenger or Facebook. Lots of options ought to give everyone a method of choice. Just choose the one you’d like to use. We would all appreciate it.
Well, I am closing out now. Have a great week end friends!
