WADLEY, Ala. — Mrs. Willa Dean Allen Jenkins, 84, of Wadley, Ala. died Monday, March 12, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Wadley on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11 a,n, CDT with Rev. Thomas Knight officiating. Interment will be in the Rocky Mount Church Cemetery in Alexander City, Ala.
Mrs. Jenkins was born December 17, 1933 in Wadley to the late Walter and Amanda Allen. She was the third of ten children. She later became a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Jenkins attended several schools in Randolph County before finishing high school. In December 1954, she married Alvin Davis Jenkins. She was a devoted homemaker and wife and enjoyed traveling with her husband. They made Baltimore, Maryland their home for over fifty years. She was employed with Continental Plastics as a supervisor for several years and later retired.
Mrs. Jenkins worshiped at several different churches in Baltimore over the years; however, her heart always belonged to Bethlehem. After the death of her husband in 2011, Mrs. Jenkins moved back to Wadley to be near her family and her church.
Mrs. Jenkins is survived by four sisters: Martha Houston, Chicago, Ill, Ethel Patton, Decatur, Ga., Carolyn Stewart, Atlanta, Ga. and Rosie Clark, Wadley; seven sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a special nephew and caregiver, Malcolm Clark and Rose Marie Crenshaw and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
