West Point Active Life Center is a Recreation Center for independent adults 55+. We provide a $2 lunch for those over 60 as well as Activities, Games, Billiards, Quilting, Trips, Exercise Classes and every Wednesday we have FREE BINGO at 10:30 AM. Do you have an item in good condition that you would like to donate to the Hike/Bike/Run Auction for Valley Haven School? Your donation is tax deductible, and you will be helping the area’s babies, toddlers and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. GriefShare, a special help seminar and small group support for people experiencing grief and loss, will be held on Sunday evenings at The Bridge Church beginning March 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. CDT for 13 weeks excluding Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

Starting on Thursday, April 19th, the Chambers County Lanett Annex will no longer be open during the lunch hour. The operating hours will be 8 a.m.-1`2:30 p.m. EDT and 1:30-5 p.m. EDT.

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, Inc. will have a blood drive at Lanett High School from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, April 24th and at the Valley campus of Southern Union State Community College  from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. EDT on Thursday, April 26th.

The Greater Valley Juneteenth Committee will be hosting a free movie in the West Point Downtown River Park at 8:30 p.m. EDT on Friday, May 4th. The Juneteenth Community Festival will be taking place on the grounds of Goodsell Methodist Church in Lanett from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. EDT on Saturday, June 9th. There will be wholesome family fun, live music, food, refreshments, and arts and crafts vendors.

The Fort Benning Golf Course will host a Centennial Golf Tournament on Friday, April 27th. The event will be open to the public and will pit teams of four against each other in an 18-hole scramble with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. To register, call (706) 545-9397.

The Interfaith Food Closet, located behind the Langdale Methodist Church in Valley, is open on Mondays, from 9-11:30 a.m. EDT; Tuesdays, 1-4 p.m.; Wednesdays, 9-11:30 a.m.; Thursdays, 1-4 p.m. and Fridays, 9 a.m. till noon. An ID and  proof of residency is needed to be eligible.

The Valley High School Combined Classes will meet at Bradshaw-Chambers County Library at 4 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 7th.
