Workmen from the East Alabama Water, Sewer and Fire Protection District had a messy job to take care of on Tuesday.

They had to repair a broken water line along River Road not far from Fairview Baptist Church.

They had to dig down five or six feet to the site, repair the break and keep the water flowing on Valley’s south side.

This was unrelated to some work East Alabama has been doing along River and California Roads in recent weeks.

In recent days, they’d been doing work across from Fairview Cemetery.

The new lines going in should mean better water pressure for area residents.
