Freshman-Senior duo lead Lafayette

CULLMAN- LaFayette senior Kendra James ended her high school career on top.
Last Saturday, James won the individual 2A state title for the high jump (1.47m), finished second in the 100-meter hurdles (15.86), and third in the 300-meter hurdles (50.09). Her performance helped lead the Bulldogs to a third-place finish at the meet with 67 points.
Freshman Feliah Greer also won an individual state title for LaFayette in the shot put with a heave of 10.75m. Freshman Alahbra’j Todd and senior Keaundra Woody contributed in the effort as well. LaFayette finished third in the 4×100 meter relay (52.08) and eighth in the 4×400 meter relay (4:48.02).
Lanett finished in sixth-place at the meet with 51 points.
The Panthers won the 2A state title for the 4×400 meter relay (4:19.23) and finished fourth in the 4×100 meter relay (52.43). Seventh-grader Ariel Hall collected four points for the Panthers with a fifth-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles (51.89). Seventh-grader Trinity Guice also collected points from the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs.
Class 3A
The Beulah High School girls team finished 22nd at the meet with two points. Both of the Bobcats’ points came from the 4×400 meter relay (4:30.46).
Class 5A
The Rams of Valley were shut out and didn’t place at the meet.
